It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of club president, Dave Goodrich, on July 26, 2022 after a short battle with cancer . He is survived by his wife, Carol. Also surviving are son, Steve and daughter Karla (Eric), grandchildren Ember and Kayden and great-grandchildren Blayze, Blitz and Maryjane.
He was co-founder and president of Mid-Ohio Mopars car club in Wooster, Ohio and felt blessed to have made so many good friends throughout the years because of the club events. He was a member of NRA and firmly believed in our 2nd Amendment rights. He enjoyed drag racing his Plymouth Duster (Daddy’s Toy) down the strip at speeds exceeding 110 mph and attending MOPAR events. Because of his vast knowledge of classic MOPARS many people came to him with questions about their cars. He was always happy to help in any way he could and was never too busy for a good “MOPAR conversation”. Dave knew what made a classic MOPAR tick – not only the body work but also mechanically. He was a modest man who never boasted about what he had done and his brother, Dwight, once said “That boy never gives himself enough credit”. He was blessed with an amazing talent for restoring classic MOPARS and making them look like they just came off the showroom floor. This talent is seen in his ’68 and ’69 Plymouth Roadrunners which can be seen on the Member Rides page.
Dave will be greatly missed by many and we’re sure he is looking down on us to make sure we keep “Slammin’ Gears!” Thank you all for being such a big part of his life!
Carol and family
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and fellow member, Sharon Potter, on May 11, 2024, after a short illness. Sharon and her husband, Tom, are two of our club co-founders. They are the original owners of the yellow survivor Dodge Super Bee shown in the “Member Rides” section of this site. Many of you will remember her as our “registration lady” and without her great organizational skills and attention to detail, the registration process would not have run as smoothly as it did all these years. This is a tremendous loss for our club but we will do our best to honor her memory by making every effort to make the process continue to run smoothly. Sharon will be greatly missed by all of us! Rest in Peace dear friend.
